Laura Hammond

Laura is a social anthropologist (PhD University of Wisconsin) and a Senior Lecturer in Development Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She has more then 15 year experience working in the Horn of Africa conducting research on forced migration, resettlement, food security, conflict, emergency management, and development policy. Recently, she has also conducted consultancy work in the Balkans. She has worked as a consultant for UN agencies, the US Agency for International Development, and a wide range of NGOs. She is the author of "This Place Will Become Home: Refugee Repatriation to Ethiopia" (Cornell University Press: 2004).
