Julius played a key role in the development of Household Economy Analysis (HEA) in the 1990s and has conducted numerous livelihood profiling and HEA assessments throughout Africa. Julius has a breadth of experience throughout Africa, but particular strengths in the Sahel and East Africa. Because of his extensive cross-country experience, he is a sought-after leader for livelihoods zoning workshops and comparative policy analysis. Julius was a co-author of the SC-UK field manual on Household Economy Analysis. He co-directed three helicopter-assisted surveys in Ethiopia and Somaliland and organized relief camp feeding and post famine assessments in Ethiopia in 1973. Julius is fluent in Amharic and French.
