Jessica Grillo
Jessi is currently the Livelihoods Advisor for the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET). She serves as the technical director of the HEA-based analytical framework, overseeing the design and implementation of livelihoods and food security research in rural and urban communities across Africa, Central America and South Asia. She provides leadership on the development and enhancement of FEWS NET’s early warning strategy, including provision of guidance on livelihoods-based analysis and scenario development. Jessi works as part of the home office technical team to provide decision support to USAID and other US government agencies that respond to food security crises. Prior to working with FEWS NET, Jessi worked with FEG-Consulting to modify the HEA-based livelihoods framework to address emerging issues in the humanitarian and development field, including a market-led livelihoods project in Ethiopia aimed at improving household earning potential through linkages to more viable markets. Her previous experience includes research and programming around nutrition, education, environmental conservation and youth development.
