Sector Specific Trainings

HEA provides a wealth of rich livelihoods data that can be integrated and used in a variety of sectors.  Over the past years the HEA framework has been adopted as the primary livelihoods approach in Ethiopia and FEG Consulting along with the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Agency (DPPA), FEWS NET and Save the Children - UK have collected baseline data for the entire country.  Although the data is to feed into and inform the DPPA's Earning Warning system, FEG consultants prepared and facilitated a training exercise on how the HEA livelihoods information can be linked to development interventions. Below are some examples from the training:

Circulating HEA Training Materials

FEG, in partnership with SC-UK, has developed and updated HEA practitioner and facilitator training materials for the Southern Africa Regional Hunger and Vulnerability Project (RHVP).  These materials will be used by government, NGO and international agency staff involved in vulnerability assessment and analysis in Southern Africa, particularly in national Vulnerability Assessment Committees (VACs) and the regional SADC-RVAC. They will also be used for courses at a “Regional Centre of Excellence”, which will be housed within an academic institution in South Africa.
