Poverty, conflict and social injustice has plagued the developing world
for decades and despite the efforts of host governments, donors,
international development institutions and community leaders,
achievements to offset this imbalance is shadowed by increasing
disparities. Public awareness to current and emerging issues in the
developing world has been put into the spotlight as philanthropist,
celebrities and the international development community has loudly
voiced the need to address poverty in the developing world. Research
must build on this momentum and contribute to the dialogue to inform and guide current and future interventions.
