HEA Toolkit
In 2008 FEG Consulting and Save the Children -UK, with support from the DFID-funded RHVP, released a toolkit that aims to provide updated technical and training materials related to the Household Economy Approach (HEA), replacing previous guidance on HEA released in 2000. The Practitioners' Guide is the first component of this toolkit, and offers technical support to consultants, field staff and program planners on all aspects of the HEA Framework.
The Household Economy Approach (HEA) Framework was developed by FEG Consulting Core Staff and Save the Children - UK in the early 1990s. Over the subsequent years, FEG Consulting, Save the Children - UK and HEA practitioners have expanded the applications of HEA to meet a broad range of decision making uses.
