In response to rising concern about the effects of rising global food prices on rural households, FEG Consulting has provided an alternative view to the urban-centric focus to date, arguing that direct aid responses to this crisis must be especially precise (given limited aid resources) and grounded in the principle of ‘proportionality to need’, regardless of whether the areas at risk are rural or urban.
