Q. Should incentives be given to interviewees?
A. It is not standard practice to pay interviewees for a number of reasons, not least of which is the difficulty in determining an appropriate rate, and the likelihood of biasing the types of interviewees you receive. It should be avoided. However, verbal appreciation should always be extended; and it is not inappropriate to arrange for suitable refreshments, such as tea or coffee.
